جبتلكم اليوم شرح للماضي المستمر ان شاء الله تستفيدو

3- زمن الماضى المستمـــــر " The past Continuous

1- متى نستخدم الماضى المستمر؟
نستخدم الماضى المستمر للتحدث عن شئ استمر لمدة معينة فى الماضى مثلاً:

Yesterday from 7.00 to 8.00 , I was watching T.V

Yesterday at 5 O'clock , Ahmed was reading

Aisha and her sister were playing

2- كيف نكون الماضى المستمر ؟ ( نأخذ فعل play كمثال)

يتكون الماضى المستمر بإضافة كلمة was أو were قبل الفعل وإضافة ing إلى نهاية الفعل

I was playing
You were playing
He was playing
She was playing
It was playing
We were playing
You were playing
They were playing

3- كيف نكون النفى فى الماضى المستمر؟ ( نأخذ فعل play كمثال)

يتكون النفى فى الماضى المستمر بإضافة كلمة wasn't أو weren't قبل الفعل.

I wasn't playing
You weren't playing
He wasn't playing
She wasn't playing
It wasn't playing
We weren't playing
You weren't playing
They weren't playing

4- كيف نكون السؤال فى الماضى المستمر ؟ ( نأخذ فعل play كمثال)

يتكون السؤال فى الماضى المستمر بوضع Was أو Were قبل الفاعل.

Was i playing
Were you playing
Was he playing
Was she playing
Was it playing
Were we playing
Were you playing
Were they playing

اختبـــــــار " Exercise "

Put the verbs between brackets in the correct form

1- They --------------- when i arrived . (fight)
2- She -------------- ameal when the lights went out . (cook)
3- What ---------------- when i phoned you? ( you/do)
4- When i arrived , everybody ---------------- . (sleep)
5- My mother ---------------- T.V. when i came . (not watch)
6- The pupils ------------- . (not listen)
7- The dog ------------------ abone in the garden when it saw acat. (eat)
8- Why -------------------------- when i was talking? ( you laugh)
9- ------------------- dinner when the police arrived ? (you / have)

1- were fighting

past continuous
express two actions one happened before another
if this second action cut the first or the first still continue
the first action used in the past continuous and the second in the present simple
eg
she was playing football when her father came
or
when her father came .she was playing football
or while she was playing football her father came
when comes with the (past simple)
while with the past continuous was or were + v+ing
was(I he she it)
were(they we you)
negate
Iwas playing football
I wasn't playing........
question
were you playing ..........?
